Production Planner

Position Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for establishing and maintaining the machine shop schedule to ensure efficient operations. The primary objective is to meet committed delivery dates, striving to maintain 95% on-time delivery. This role includes monitoring progress, identifying potential delays, and escalating issues when necessary to ensure milestones are met and costs are minimized. Additionally, this position oversees potential issues, provides solutions, and communicates effectively with internal teams and leadership to mitigate risks and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate sales orders into the production schedule and coordinate the availability of materials, equipment, and personnel to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Collaborate with sales, logistics, engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop and communicate schedules that best allocate resources to meet customer needs.
  • Alert teams when delivery times are at risk or quoted delivery is shorter than standard.
  • Manage expedites and consult with sales management to prioritize resources for optimal business outcomes.
  • Review orders and raw material inventory, anticipating demand and acquiring additional supplies as necessary.
  • Participate in and support production meetings with up-to-date information and delivery timing.
  • Further implement, promote, and champion the use of JobPack shop floor scheduling software.
  • Prepare production reports as needed.
  • Supervise assigned personnel, handling time management, performance reviews,
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by manager.

 

 

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of planning experience in a custom/job-shop manufacturing or machining environment
