General Position Description and Purpose:
Accountant will be responsible for assisting Controller with the preparation and analysis of financial statements. Position will be responsible for working directly with the Controller to address questions of a financial and operational nature and to interpret/communicate the results of operating activity on a daily, monthly, quarterly, annual and as-needed basis. Position will be expected to review & become familiar with policies, practices and procedures in an effort to identify continuous improvements.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Listed below are typical responsibilities performed in this position. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Consolidation of global subsidiary monthly activity.
2. Assist with monthly analysis of the company’s performance including, but not limited to, sales volume variances, product family margin, manufacturing variances, variable distribution costs, and fixed expenses.
3. Assist with monthly analysis of accounting reserves.
4. Assist in preparation of annual audit schedules.
5. Perform Point Man monthly closing activities.
6. Provide other schedules/reports to management as needed for areas that provide operational value.
7. Participate in the preparation of the annual budget.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance. Expertise with standard Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word. Preferably 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with financial reporting responsibilities.
