New Hot Plate Welder Widens Application Field for Plastic Assembly

Dukane expands its comprehensive range of plastic assembly solutions by unveiling the first in a new series of hot plate welders capable of welding virtually all thermoplastics. The compact horizontal Model HHB1223P expands the application field by utilizing advanced PLC controlled dual-zone heating. An integrated display/control panel clearly steps the operator through the menus to setup the process and modify the settings.

Built on a rugged, steel frame, the new hot plate welder features easy tooling changeover, quick operator access and economical operation. The horizontal tooling platens are pneumatically operated for quiet operation. A vacuum system in the upper tool senses part presence and holds the part securely in the tool. The heater / thermocouple feedback
loops are digitally controlled and burnout protection is available. Operator safety is assured by use of the interlocked manual–close/ auto–open door and a fully automatic safety door with light curtains is also available.

Unlike previous hot plate welding systems, the closed–loop feedback control maintains the programmed temperatures, pressure and weld time for repeatable operation to ensure welding consistency. Built-in diagnostics to minimize downtime and custom automation outputs are standard features.
